The concept is very simple, so the background moves. Since there isn't a whole lot going on onscreen, it's okay that the background kind of ebbs and flows. The gradual scale change is nice and provides visual interest without being too distracting. The dark background draws most of your attention to the screen rather than toward all the secondary elements.
