I'm doing an animated poem for my final project, and it's surprisingly difficult to find examples of animated poetry that is actually inspiring to me. I found some examples, but I chose to draw a lot of inspiration from animated lyric videos as well, since they guaranteed use typography.
This lyric video for Copycat by Billie Eilish relies heavily on typography (obviously... it's a lyric video) and integrates type with illustrations to make it more dynamic. It mostly utilizes scale and position, but it's used in such a way that makes a really dynamic composition. Vibrant colors are used to capture attention and make the composition appear bouncy instead of flat. All the words are sort of jumbled up, but the order in which they appear makes sure the viewer understands the thought. It doesn't always have to be so straightforward. This is art, not a document. Just make it fit your poem or song's vibe.
