I'm doing an animated poem for my final project, and it's surprisingly difficult to find examples of animated poetry that is actually inspiring to me. I found some examples, but I chose to draw a lot of inspiration from animated lyric videos as well, since they guaranteed use typography.
This lyric video combines lyrics and footage, forcing the typography effects to be simple so it will match the footage. This is useful for my video because my illustrations and animations are complex enough that they might as well be footage. My typography--as well as the effects on my typography--needs to be kept simple so it doesn't conflict with the art. Type can still have effects on it, but they should be similar to what's happening in the illustrated animations.
