This animated poem, though it doesn't use typography, shows a perfect example of poem animation. Poems often use metaphors, so it's perfectly acceptable to use metaphors in your animation too. This animation is both literal and figurative scenes. When it talks about the spider spinning a web with filaments, the spider in the animation shoots out a bunch of webs. This then evolves into an extravagant pattern of lines that create an interesting visual effect, alluding to the metaphorical nature of the poem. Though many different themes are presented in this one poem, the animation never seems choppy or switches too quickly, and the animation style remains the same throughout.
The style of the animation sets the mood for the poem. Poetry is usually visible in someone's own mind, so animating a poem is one person's interpretation being, basically, forced upon the viewer. That being said, your interpretation is important, but it can also be a bit vague.
